It’s a harsh reality that losing weight just gets tougher as we age. And for women heading into their 40s and beyond, it can be a frustrating, never-ending battle to obtain and maintain a healthy weight. Our mission, as a physician and health coach team, is to empower women aged 40 and above with the information to navigate through the myriad of weight loss programs, diets, and interventions that are out there. That way, they can find something that best fits their personal lifestyle, diet preferences, and work/family situation - something that is sustainable with long-lasting results. We evaluate each intervention through the lens of the needs of women taking a holistic approach and considering psychological, emotional, physical, hormonal, nutritional, and relational aspects. When we discuss hormone-friendliness, it is specifically referring to balancing the hormones related to the reproductive system, the main ones including estrogen and progesterone, as well as those related to the thyroid gland which helps regulate metabolism.
